I am a PhD student at the University of Utah, where my research is focused on videogames and culture. My recent writing projects have focused on the history and politics of modding, the culture of the videogame industry, and the portrayal of science in videogames. My day job is working as a game developer for ASPIRE, the outreach program of the Utah High Energy Astrophysics Institute, where I make games to teach kids physics. I also participate in a lot of Game Jams, do some occasional blogging, collect old Space Legos, and doodle prolifically.
